The “main page” on any site is the doorway to the remainder of the content of that particular site. Some of the nonessential copy got turfed too. The top four links at our site judiciously use the words ; Traffic, Free, & Special. Does the door open? Does the visitor turn the knob and push thru the main page to see what’s actually in there? We faced this situation lately. We also took out just about all outside links from the main page. The result’s a sleeker looking page that’s more effective in delivering the message about the remainder of the site. . These words are proved to draw interest and attract attention.
This is how some awfully successful ezines build their lists. Everyone knows that Banners and Banner Exchangers are quickly losing their efficacy, yet a large part of the advertising online still revolves around them. Make a piece of art that you are happy with, but not frightened to improve on ( change ). I’m hoping this provides help in your future selling choices.
